The Vontobel Foundation promotes high-quality medical research conducted by young researchers.
Medical research enables the development of new treatments, medications, and therapies. We contribute to this progress by supporting young researchers working on a relevant project at an established research institute. Through this support, we are also increasing the competitiveness of Switzerland as a research hub.
In general, we support salaries for early-career researchers (PhD candidates, doctoral candidates, and others with protected research time) but do not provide support covering costs of materials and laboratory. Applicants submit the amount they need for the specific project – we do not define any upper or lower limits for grants. We do not support medical research projects initiated by other foundations.
